I saw this film last night at the cinema {it did not get a wide release in the UK}. It is an absolutely astounding film that I cannot stop thinking about. It is so complex and there are so many characters and events that may or may not have affected the outcome of the film. I just cant get my head round the meaning of this movie.
Have any of you seen it or can anyone shed some light on the story for me?
A brilliant film that deserves to be talked about.

Just saw this thread.
After I saw Donnie for myself I posted a question in Mr Tovor's Answer thread asking him to explain the ending to me.
I really enjoyed the film.

<span style="color:000070">I have been reccomended to see this film twice thus far and I haven't been able to find it anywhere... Is it in theatres, on DVD, VHS? I guess I'm just looking in the wrong places.
*sigh* I just want to watch a movie with demonic rabits named Fred, is that so wrong?</span>

It was out in cinemas.
Now it's in that Twilight Zone between cinemas and DVD release.

yeah - it's on dvd in Oz as well
top flick!!
kinda part scifi, part goth, part head f*ck.
one thing I didn't like though, <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td bgcolor="#000000" valign="middle" align="left"><font color="#000000" size="1">Spoiler (Highlight to Read):</font>
</td></tr><tr><td bgcolor="#ffffff" valign="middle" align="left"><font color="#ffffff" size="1"> because the guy went back and allowed himself to be killed, the peadophile would never have been caught, and that stupid cow will continue teaching his Life classes style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif </td></tr></table>
The ending was sad, and I din;t like it. It's a good film. Jake Glyennhal is excellent. Jena Malone is hot! It's just really quirky, but well done.

It's been at my Blockbuster for almost a year, and it's almost always checked out. I finally got it the other night.
It makes more sense if you read the "Philosophy of Time Travel" book on the DVD.

Has seen "The Time Code" (I think that was the name). It was the first film to be on 4 characters the entire time, (I'm talking about the screen being split into quarters and each one a different character.) I saw a part of it and I can't find it again.

Top flick. I really empathised with Donnie. He's strange, but that's no bad thing, and kudos to the kid for telling that psycho "Life Classes" teacher to "shove it". style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif Definitely made my imagination trip, and I really dug the ending. And I really love that song! D/l'ed it immediately.
Anyone go to the Donnie Darko site? One of the creepiest sites on the 'net. Extremely well executed, and meshes with the film just so to create that eery effect. Tre cool.
If Donnie Darko didn't fully trip you out this will finish you off (http://www.donniedarko.com/) - Don't forget the sound!!! Very important!
