Of course I must say I couldn't stand Jar Jar, but I was none too happy about any of the Gungans. The Neimoidians were alright, serving a point and being too stupid for their own good. The Ewoks were okay, as well. As were the Jawas. I guess its really just the Gungans I could never stand. Go figure.

Uggggh.... They/it definitely top my list. Bad animation. Ugly design. And perhaps the *worst* lines in the entire saga.

I hated the Nemoidians at first, because they were sniveling cowards. But I grew to like them because of how they fit into Sidious' master plan. He needed power-hungry sniveling cowards (with lots of money, droids, and resources) to start his war. And they bought the entire plan; hook, line & sinker. Even as Nute Gunray was sliced in half by Vader, he wasn't able to see the truth that he had been played like a cheap banjo.

Jar - Jar. I really don't find him *that* bad. And I love how he was responsible for "breaking" the Republic by motioning for Palpatine's emergency powers.


Ewoks.... *bleagh*.

Teddy Bears with spears defeating the most powerful force the Galaxy had ever seen... Now I know the story that Lucas was trying to tell here - that might and superior force do not always spell victory, especially when you're in someone else's house - but the execution of it was sloppy. Yeah, it was cute and funny. But it did detract from the *seriousness* of what was being fought for.

I liked Jar Jar and Gungan creature design.
I just hated their language. And the fact that George Lucas actually wrote Exqueeeze me in the script. Why couldn't Ben Burtt record his son farting or something and turn it to into a language? Oh thats what he did for Poggle the Lesser.

Also, the neimoidians are really annoying, especially Nute. I cheered when Anakin killed him.

And pretty much all the characters from Naboo except for Padme and the Decoy Queen(Kiera Knightley, who I thought was a better queen).

The young Yoda puppet from Episode I.

Oh yeah, and then there's let's see, little Annie(yippeeeee), his friends(George's kids), and Wald the stunted Rodian.

Maybe they should have tested the Death Star "laser" on Naboo.

Hmmm, maybe we shouldn't be annoyed by the characters but the man who created/scripted/approved them?

While I'm not a big fan of Jar-Jar, I can tolerate him. Some of the OTSE things like that 'comedy' scene in ANH with the Jawas swinging around its neck is jarring. Why is that thing there? Does the camera really have to stay on it that long? It's not really a 'character' but it can and should be shot. By a high powered lasery-beamy weapon; not a camera.

EDIT: I hope this doesn't turn into another "I hate Jar-Jar" thread. There have been approximately 4723 threads of this nature already and they all die pretty quickly.

There really is no one that I cannot stand. I've never had a problem with Jar Jar. I've always thought of him as one of the most significant characters in not only the PT but in the entire saga. While the siamese aliens announcing the pod race aren't exactly Madden and Michaels they aren't that bad. Sure the lines are corny but it's a kids movie and it doesn't take up that much time. The Ewoks serve a much greater purpose than just being annoying. They aren't even annoying. People think they are annoying because they are not the image of a species that could defeat the Empire that everyone would have liked to have seen but that was the whole point. Even when Padme gets tiresome she's still hot and looks go a long way. Anybody remember Jenny McCarthy?

I did not like the pod race announcer or should I say announcers. I mean that two headed creature was looking really fake and the way they spoke was really looking like a scene from a cheap comedy movie.

I really didn't like the way Padme and her maids dressed in episode 1. Their make up and hair styles were really strange. However I liked Padme on the balcony scene with Anakin, with her long curly hair. Leia's hair style on episode 4 was really amusing, too.

I actually like Jar Jar quite a bit. The more I watch the prequels the madder I get at all the fanboys who kicked up such a stink about Jar Jar because for better or worse I do think that affected George's use of the character in subsequent films. I would have liked to have seen Jar Jar complete the hero's journey he started in the Phantom Menace.

As for characters that I can't stand, I would have to go with Captain Panaka. Sheesh was he useless. Captain Typho is a much more suitable protector for the Queen.

Wedge a wannabe hero?? Considering he was always a consumate soldier, I'd say that's far from the truth. Did he whine about not getting to take the "kill" shot in the second Death Star? No, he was ordered to the power regulator, and he did it like a professional. Wedge was the embodiment of the enduring Rebel, and he's AWESOME! (awesome to be spoken like J.D. from Scrubs)

Anyway, ranting about one of my favorite characters even before the EU fleshed him out aside, I'd have to say that Rebel pilot who acknowledges the split up and head out order in the second DS. I think EU might have made him Tycho Celchu. He looks so roboticly annoyed at having to leave the run. Annoys me to no end every time I watch it.

I will say that if he was just a bit more toned down in TPM, my hatred would probably not exist. But GL just went too far with him. Stepping in poop, getting farted on, the numb face, etc. None of that was necessary to have him be a comedic relief. They somehow avoided stupid, Sandler-ish humor like that in the OT and there were many comedic moments.

Well, to me, it's more than just clumsiness. That's certainly a part of it, though. He's just irritating overall. His voice, his clumsiness, his stupidity, you name it, it probably annoys me.
As discussed in a different thread, his character has so many 'pratfall' type moments that I just didn't like. Getting farted on, stepping in poop, clumsily shooting droids in the end battle, having his tongue numbed, etc. Like the Ewoks, I don't like how he fit into the Star Wars universe, even though as a kid, I liked the Ewoks. It's a bit of a conundrum, I'll admit, but there you go.
