Hi guys. :)
So... these are two portraits I did this weekend. I havenīt been drawing for a while and keep getting the eyes too big and the faces to short but... yeah...just my stuff...

The first one is Anakin, the second oneīs supposed to be a young Obi Wan

Pretty cool. Do you draw from memory?

JediGirl

Thanks, Justin! :)
No, I draw from photos. Memory is too hard.

Very nice, JediGirl!

Oh, and :welcome:

JediGirl

Thanks for the welcome Justin. :D I just recently discovered Star Wars and watched all the movies within a couple of weeks... now Iīm hooked I guess. I try to find time to do some more sketched these days

They are very good. I like how you utilize the shading. They are a bit light for me to see. Perhaps you can scan it darker or something. Still they are good. Mine are messy ink paintings. :D

JediGirl
04-25-2006, 04:33 PM
Thanks a lot MasterJedi12
I tried to scan this one a little darker... might be better to see... I hope.
Okay, this is Princess Leia. Iīm not too satisfied with what the mouth turned out but didnīt manage it any better.. *sigh*

MasterJedi12
04-26-2006, 02:19 AM
Very good. I can see what you mean on the mouth. Overall, it looks just like the scene in ESB when Han tells her that he was going to leave in his scoundrel way.

JediGirl
04-27-2006, 12:56 AM
Okay, here we go again... :) Another one which I somehow like actually. I might do a little more work on his hair and the face shading but am somewhat okay with it so far.

MasterJedi12
04-27-2006, 04:28 PM
Yep that looks like little Ani from TPM. Good job. I like really I do. You should check out some of mine. I just posted two more links to images.

JediGirl
04-29-2006, 09:32 AM
Another one, Han Solo this time. :ohhlala:
Iīm not too happy with what the scan turned out as that stupid crappy thing of a scanner didnīt capture the shading around the nose and mouth exactly as they are in the original :banghead:

MasterJedi12
04-30-2006, 01:43 AM
I know that can be frustrating. Still he looks like Han. Is it one from ANH? That's what he looks like.

JediGirl
04-30-2006, 01:41 PM
Thanks
Yeah, itīs from A New Hope, the scene when they are in this weird inn, :shots: donīt ask me what the name was exactly, Iīve only once seen the movies so far. ;)

MasterJedi12
05-01-2006, 02:26 AM
Oh the cantina scene right? Yeah now I can hear the music in me head and I want to dance. :D

JediGirl

Okay, now that my scanners working again...more or less, hereīs another one I did yesterday evening.

My favorite Jedi! No it's not Yoda but Obi-Wan Kenobi!!
This one came out AWESOME!! It is like one of the best so far.

JediGirl
05-08-2006, 03:30 AM
Heīs my favourite Jedi as well :ohhlala:
And awwww thanks a lot
Oh and by the way... had any ideas about your concept art yet? :)

MasterJedi12

Still thinking about it because I take real people and alter features. Working on it. Patience for the Jedi it is time to eat as well

JediGirl

*lol* So true... Iīd be such a lousy Jedi
*pictures Obi Wan rolling his eyes at me* :bop:

JediGirl
05-14-2006, 09:30 AM
Okay, yet another one I just finished. Supposed to be Luke. I somehow like some of the shadings around the eyes and nose, but I didnīt manage the hair for some reason :banghead:
I donīt know why but somehow, Luke is horribly hard to draw... :bop:

JediGirl
05-15-2006, 04:17 PM
Yet another one.... I called it "Lord Vader" :vader:

MasterJedi12
05-15-2006, 04:31 PM
Very good. The one of Ani I think is the best of the ones on this page. You really captured his dark side.

JediGirl
05-20-2006, 05:11 PM
Okay... uhm.... whyīs this bloke so hard to draw? :bop:
So, DarthLazious, this is for you. I tried my best, but still the mouth turned out a little bit odd....nevertheless, I hope you like it a bit.

Palpatine for DarthLazious

MasterJedi12

It's very good. I think the difficult part was the shadow, the way how his face was positioned. Still I can make out that it is Palpatine as the senator of Naboo. Maybe it would be easier if you tried him as chancellor?

JediGirl
05-23-2006, 02:53 PM
Yeah, I think so. The shadows were really hard but it was difficult to find a good picture to easily draw from. I might try another one these days, by the weekend maybe...

MasterJedi12
05-23-2006, 09:19 PM
Looking forward to it. I have a couple up my sleeve myself, at least in my brain's sleeve

Nice work! You seem to just get better and better with each picture! Well done.
Do you think you could try a Boba Fett for me? Pleeeease? :D

Wow, that "Lord Vader" is intense :thumbs-up:

JediGirl
05-25-2006, 10:57 AM
Well, thanks empire21 :)

Uhm... flo fett.. I will try but wonīt find time for it over the next few days Iīm afraid. Could you mabe post a photo here? I must admit I have only once seen the movies so far (with exception of episode I and ROTJ which I have watched 2 or 3 times) so to my shame I have to say that right now I do not have the character before my eyes right now...

flo fett
05-27-2006, 08:21 AM
LOL, not a problem. He wasn't in the original three movies that much. I was (and am) such a total geek that I formed a fixation on one of the minor characters. He became strangely popular though and there's quite a few of us Fettheads out there now (to put it mildly). And don't worry about how long it takes, just whenever you've got the time. :D Thanks. keep up the good work!

here's some pictures to help you!

JediGirl
05-27-2006, 08:29 AM
Oh man that looks like quite of a challenge... no eyes... no nose and no mouth (hm... I always mess up the mouths so... ) Okay, will be a new thing to try and experiment with shadows.

You're really good! I wish like hell I could draw like that. I might submit a drawing of Padme when I get home. (I'm at my dad's house right now...no scanner, and it's useless to scan when you haven't got the picture with you.)

JediGirl
08-06-2006, 11:03 AM
Aww, thanks for all of your nice reviews :)
Sorry, Iīve not been around for quite a time. Been quite busy, but I might come around updating something in a while.

Hey JediGirl,

Very admirable job with that Leia Portrait, you sure don't have to guess who it is. It's funny you mentioned the mouth, I'm working from that same photo in my own interpretation (which I hope to post tomorrow) and I went through three coffee pots in three hours on that blasted (but lovely) mouth alone! It nice to know I wasn't the only one who struggled.

Wow! You have shown AMAZING improvement since your first two images! The final Obi-Wan image and Anakin images were lightyears ahead of your first two attempts! You have obviously been working very hard to improve! Congratulations on the gigantic strides of progress you have made since starting this thread! You have come a long, long way!

JediGirl
10-05-2006, 02:39 PM
I was not even working so very hard, NarCranor, the pics were posted in the order I painted them, I painted nothing in between. I got a handful of very useful tipps from someone who does great portraits:) and I tried to apply these tipps which has worked to some extent. I am using a grid when drawing, helps me to get the proportions right.
Iīd love to draw more and I know I promised a Boba Fett to flo fett. I hope you wonīt be mad at me by now, flo, :crying: but I really donīt come around getting anything like that done at the moment. Iīm heavily involved in writing my final exam paper for university which will be around 100 pages once itīll be finished. Donīt get much time to do nice things like drawing. :pinch:

Well I hope you do continue, you have great talent. Don't give up, and keep going. By the way, good luck on your paper.

Very nice! I tried drawing Anakin, I used the frickin' how to draw thing on sw.com and it wasn't half as good as yours!
