When Padme' arrives on Mustafar with OB1 stowed away on the ship I found it curious that Vader did not sense him. He first realized he was there when OB1 stood in the doorway. Did he learn from that mistake and become more sensitive to others with the force as he did in the OT?

Yup. Sounds good.

Hmm, I believe in "A New Hope", when Obi-Wan is hiding away on the Millenium Falcon inside the docking bay of the Death Star, Vader says something along the lines of feeling a presence he has not felt since he was last with his master ... aka, most likely Mustafar, unless the EU gives Vader and Obi-Wan another confrontation...

i don't follow eu stuff so if there was a confrontation between Obi wan and Vader I would discount it so i say mustafar

I can't see LFL approving such a storyline.

it wouldn't make sense to do that anyway.

I think that Vader's rage had blinded him to being able to sense Obi-Wan.

Good point.l Anakin's emotions were in major turmoil at that point. Between having just killed the Jedi, wiping out the Separatists, and then Padme arriving he couldn't have been able to focus very well on just a slight presense.

Palpatine had difficulty sensing others presense also. And Luke could not feel his real mother.

That's the way I see it.

I'd have to go with the fact that Anakin's emotions blinded him to Obi-Wan but during the fight, he may have caught a whiff of Obi-wan's presence which enabled him to say that he sensed his master in ANH. As for Palpatine, I put in in the world of limbo because I would need to dissect his character full to understand. I do say that he was brillant in his coming to power though.

I don't know how you guys feel about the canon of the EU, but in the NJO, some Jedi have found that they can hide their presence in the Force, so those with the Force can't feel them through it. It's easily possible that Obi-Wan had figured this out, and hid his presence from Anakin when he was approaching Mustafar.

I think that Vader cares more about himself and the dark side than Ob1.

exactly! he was too taken in with padme...too focused on her to take notice of a stowaway! :banghead: he saw her ship on the screen and ran out to see her...not taking notice of things around him! :crying:

Well the Jedi do say that passions can blind you to the truth around you. So your point is a valis mark.

it would have made sense that anakin never sensed obi-wans presance they had been in countless battles together and were allways on the same mission ever heard of force bonding (example of this was the exile and darth treya in knights of the old republic 2 the sith lords ) there was no indication of this in the movies but it may of happened instincivly

when they had there battle anakin would have felt obi-wans aura after he injured him . connection was broken then his hatred allowed him to feel obiwan thats why his eyes changed couler again when he got angry.

so it would have been a suprise for vader when he felt obi-wan again twenty odd years later
