It had been a long time since the Singles Cantina had reopened. It's regular patrons long gone to distance parts of the galactic senate forum...

Daala surveyed the damage of the last party that had been held here. Plants had grown over the normally destroyed path and there were cobwebs all over the place, but at least the door was still on its hinges. With a mighty shove Daala pushed in the cantina door and motioned to the squad of storm troopers behind her. They walked in perfect formation holding there breath from the stench of stale air and mouldy fries. Daala put her hands on her hips," It's time lieutenant," and with those words the clean up began.

The more the merrier....

Droids were rushing with mops or being vaccum cleaners and stormtroopers were throwing out and bringing in the new booths.
The bar the most vital part of the establishment was gettting a final polish and it would be very soon that the first Wyern whisky, korwakian kornog or cherry coke would be poured.

*Felix walks in*
"What is this place?"

Admiral DaaLa
03-15-2006, 10:19 PM
Just a place where people would chat have a drink and generally go on some wild adventure due excess alcohol.... A place for those single and not so single to well vent!

Jeianni
03-19-2006, 05:30 PM
A blinding glow emerged from the entrance, flowing along the floor and the walls like a fine mist. The other bar patrons shielded their eyes, as the ball of light traveled further into the cantina.

Daala rolled her eyes and grabbed a can of cherry coke, throwing it at the newcomer. "Knock it off Jeianni! Geeze, always a flare for theatrics."

Jeianni deftly caught the cherry coke, dropping the light show and pulling her energy back into herself. Faint traces of phospherescents remained in her fingernails and sparking from the ends of her hair. Tossing back the hood of her cloak, Jeianni shook out her chocolate waves and sat down at the bar, shooing away the stormtrooper sitting in her favorite seat. The trooper gave her a nasty look, but Jeianni merely smiled and pointed at Daala. The trooper stomped off towards the other end of the bar.

"Daala, thanks for the coke! I'm so glad you re-opened this place. You bought it out from Clara?"

Daala chuckled. "Well, my tab had run up so high that it was either buy the place, or go to debtors prison."

"Ah. Well, have a seat while your minions clean up, and I'll tell you all about the absolutely hunky, man I met while on holiday from the academy!"

Daala settled onto the bar next to her, ears open to listen for gossip.

Arc_Commando92
03-19-2006, 06:40 PM
Arc_Commando walked into the bar with his white with red trim armor and his two blaster pistols ready looking through his visor around in the bar and grabbed a trandoshon by the throat and threw him clear across the room and sat down and ordered a Pepsi and said in a deep angry quiet voice as they slid it down the end of the table and he grabbed it and slirped it dry....

Jeianni
03-19-2006, 11:32 PM
Jeianni tossed napkin at the trandoshan on the floor.

"Arc, darlin', relax, next time try introducing yourself. Might make some friends."

Arc scowled at Jeianni and turned his stool away from her.

"Okay... Anyways, Daala. This guy- so cute! He plays tennis, so he's very, very fit! Blue eyes to die for, nice muscles, six pack, and the best yet? He's really smart! So he's cute, and intelligent, and mercy what a kisser!" Jeianni sighed and rested her chin on her fist, staring dreamily into her cherry coke. "But now that I'm back from my holiday, classes start again tomorrow. With PT first thing in the morning. UGH! The upper classmen have taken it upon themselves to prepare us for field training this summer, so not only do I have to wake up at 6:00 to run, I also have to get yelled at while I'm running. :bop: "

The handsome, brown haired, blue eyed, six - packed he-man OBK walked up besides the two beautiful ladies sitting at the table

"Helo Ladies, fancy a tonic?"

Admiral DaaLa
03-20-2006, 08:13 AM
Daala just thinking about Jeanni's hunk with the six pack (very nice) and the realised she had no idea what PT meant?

Anywayz....OBK or should i say He-man OBk walked into the bar and kindly offered to buy the two women a drink.

"She'll have a cherry coke and I'll have a gin and tonic with a slice of lemon thanks," said Daala as she motion OBK to sit at the bar stool next to them.

Jeanni raised an eyebrow with a smile, "Gin and tonic how sophisticated..." :)

Daala burst out laughing,"Far from it it just seems the drink that everyone is having at the moment must be on special. Plus i had a long day so i deserve a little."

She turned to OBK, "What's the weather like in Toronto?"

OOC: Dont mind if I join this, nah thought not :nahnah:

Scourge after a long trip from England finally found a place to drink. He enters and drops his gear by a table and walks up to the bar.

''Barman gimme something strong'' asked Scourge

The barman gave him a bottle of absynth and a shot glass. Taking the bottle and his gear he walked over to the table.

''Hey do you mind if I sit with you guys?'' asked Scourge

Arc_Commando92
03-20-2006, 05:00 PM

Jeianni
03-21-2006, 07:51 PM
Jeianni rolled her eyes at Arc and made room for Ragnos and Scourge at the bar.

"Boys. Anyways, PT is short for Physical Fitness- running, a lot." She turned to Ragnos.

"Vanilla coke? A man after my own heart!" Jeianni signaled the barman, one of Daala's scout troopers with a towel slung over her arm.

"Order of fries please, catsup on the side!" She turned back to Ragnos.

"Not much up with me other than homework. You weren't here for the days of Trigonometry and the graphing calculator that met it's early demise, or Chinese characters that were burned into my brain, but you may soon begin to hear of the political science class of extreme boredom, and the acting class with the rediculous attendance policy."

Admiral DaaLa

LOL... on that note I had the most useless tutorial yesterday two hours of the same on going crap! One of my mates fell asleep and the teacher kept on saying "I know this is difficult but after a few chapters you will gt the hang of it." I'm quite sure he forgot that his nine students are all med students who are specialing and find epidemiology very basic.

Daala looked at Jeanni and said, "Try vanilla coke with Frangelico it is the best drink," She clicked her fingers as two such drinks appeared at the table.

The blaster shot and the dead tranoshian caught Daala's attention, "You'd think we could have some time in here with out blaster shots destroying the bar."

Jeanni nodded, "Definately and Arc could please not leave the corpse rotting on the floor. The body disposal is still in the corner."

Arc_Commando92
03-21-2006, 09:18 PM
"Fine...." Arc sighed as he got up and said,"Seat Check!" and sighed as he walked over to the dead trandoshian corpse lying on the floor and grabbed it by the throat and tossed his body out of the window and walked back over to his eat as he grabbed another pepsi from the bar and said to Daala,"Happy now....?"

Jeianni
03-22-2006, 12:28 AM
"Oh, puh-lease." (oh the burn, it's so deep! it's such a deep burn!)

"OBK, how old are you, are you still in school? How's your extracurricular life. Play any sports? Tell us a little about yourself." Slurping her cherry coke, Jeianni leaned her chin on her fist and lounged on the bar, watching OBK intently.

Clarkson88 walked in... angry. He had tagged along with Scourge from England, having gone to Corellia airport.
He went to the bar, slumping his bag to the floor as his physics, maths and chemistry books fell out.
'Guinness and black?' he asked, as his head slumped on the bar, his palm opening and awaiting the refreshing guinness, his other holding Republic/Imperial credits.

'Did I just hear Arizona? My brother, sister-in-law and niece live there, in Phoenix!' said Clarkson, recognising familiar places.

Whisper
03-27-2006, 03:34 AM
The sounds of a massive firefight can be heard from the streets outside. The patrons turn to look wondering what was going on when...

Whisper, the resident Merc' wit a 'Tude, comes barreling through the door, firing his heavy blaster over his shoulder. As the Merc dissappears into the back room three Mini Hunter Killer Droids (hereafter refered to as HK Droids or HKD's...dependig on laziness...) roar in firing as well, following into the back room.

Daala blinks, "Don't see that too often..."

"Well...you know Whisp...he likes to make an entrance...he'll be back.

Three massive explosions rock the joint, and Whisper walks back into the bar from the back. He looks around, "You guys messed me up...I WAS going to bring the whole building down, since I thought this here place was kaput...Those things don't destroy easily..."

Daala's eyebrows almost become a unibrow as she asks hesitantly, "So...then how did you..."

"Do you really wanna know?"

Jeianni shakes her head "No...not really..."

"Good...Anyhoo, Black Cherry Vanilla Coke, and Vanilla Baccardi if you please..."

Jeianni smacked Daala's hands away from her fries and smiled at Darth Scourge. "I'm still a Uni student, so I haven't decided what job I'll have in the Air Force, and the AF pretty much decides that for me anyways. - GAVIN! Stop shooting the bartenders! There's a million more troopers where he came from anyways, you'll just piss off Daala! You wanna shoot something, try the firing range- backside of the mens toilet."

Admiral DaaLa
03-27-2006, 08:10 PM
The Commonwealth Games is like a mini olympics but only the countries of the commonwealth compete ie. Everyone who was under English rule. So England, Australia, Canada, India, kenya... there are about 70 countires. Same sports and deal as the Olympics it's every four years, same sports, rules but instead of the olympic flame we have the Queens baton.

It's good preparation for the Olympics anyway.

Daala was busy looking at the stock list because everyone seemed to be drink vanila coke. A rare and hard to find additive from a remote region of the galaxy and remote settlement, Earth. She also was considering ordering in a new bar top but she figured that anytime in next few pages it would be destroyed anyway.

She turned to Jeanni, "you think blaster damage will come under warranty? I mean it says scratch proof?"

Jeanni just shook her head, "Yer I didn't think so either."

ANd then it was time for a *drum roll please* BHM for those who are new its a Black Hole MArgarita. The distiling equipment quickly reappeared and Daala pulled out the patented license which she was going to plagarise.

"Star Trek is a wonderful legacy. I absolutely loved Deep Space Nine! But to answer your question Scourge, no, I'm not looking to fly fighter jets. I haven't the patience or the attention span for high speed jets. I'd much rather fly tankers, like a C-130, or a B-52, if anything at all. I always say size does matter. Although, I'm more of a people person than a "blow stuff up" person. That's more Daala's style."

Jeianni spun her bar stool to face Daala. "Under British rule? So does the U.S. get to play? Or are they still mad about that whole- losing the revolution- thing? 'No offence taken. The Queen doesn't actually partake in anything but waving her arm in England. All she does is sign bill's that are passed on from the House of Lords who in turn received them from the House of Commons. She doesn't even get to decide if she allows it. She is basically a figurehead. Of course we still pay repsects to her. She is after all the Queen.' said Clarkson as he turned to Daala and Jeiani.

"English colony?" Jeianni jumped on her barstool, slammed back her cherry coke, and dashed the glass over her shoulder.

"Revolt, I say! Revolt!"

"Well as Clarkson said she is purely ceremonial and like hre representative, the Governor General, doesn't really do to much. I mean there have been cases were the GG has caused a dissolution of parliament so they are not completely powerless but they generally just cut ribbons at ceremonies etc the PM Johnny Howard and his party do all the work."

Daala slowly contiues to tinker with her distilling equipment.
Daala drinks more of her "So JJ how's the cute boy? and his tennnis ability going?"

Jeianni nodded at Fett in greeting, requesting a Cherry Coke and Rum from the trooper bartender.

"Well, that's funny because I don't know. He hasn't called me or texted my phone once since he got on the plane. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, like his phone broke or something. But he's in Vegas right now for a tennis tournie, so I don't know what's going on. Either way, haven't heard from him in a few days and I'm still deciding on whether or not I'm going to be really irritated. School's alright though. Going to my mom's today, got a doctor's appointment for my knee at one, twisted it. It's mostly okay, but I can't run/jump on it. I've got a marching practice in an hour that I must shower for though."

Jeianni finished her rum and coke, snatching a few more fries before she sauntered out the front door, waving as she left.

'What's America like?' asked Clarkson as he ordered a cherry brandy and coke.
'I ask this as I have never been and am visiting my brother in Arizona this summer.'

Marko Ragnos
04-03-2006, 03:06 PM
Ragnos ordered another vanilla coke. "America's cocky-doody!" He said to Clarkson. "At least i think so... it's better than Sweden"

Jeianni
04-06-2006, 08:39 PM
Jeianni flounced into the cantina, reigning in her force light as she did so. She whipped off her cloak and landed on a bar stool next to Ragnos.

"Whew! Long day! I heard you say Arizona? I'm from Arizona, living there at the moment too! I can tell you that if you're visiting AZ this summer, it's going to be unbelievably hot! Bring sunscreen! Don't think that you're going to come here to get a tan, you'll end up with a nasty sunburn instead! There are a lot of college girls here from the Northeast who learned that the hard way! Other than that, there's really no way to explain America, it's pretty unique. The people here are self absorbed for the most part, so don't feel wierd. You just gotta figure it out for yourself!"

Jeianni signaled the scout trooper wiping down the table.

"Drink's on me, Daala! How you been lately? Busy I'm assuming, you've been pretty quiet! I find out where I'm going for field training soon! Yay!!"

Admiral DaaLa

Daala looked like she wasjust waking up her doffee addiction and consumption had got out of control again. :Yer my literature review is due two weeks so i'm a little stressed a little tired. My weekends are booked to the max i wish one weekend was mixed with a lot of sleep."

Daala asked for a brotwurst and beer and said
"My best friend came back from Germany which is great she lived there for a year. We all went out lots of fun."

"What's happening in your side of the world Jeanni? Whats field training like?" She said eating the brutworst and ignoring the beer.

Meanwhile Americans ...apologises in advanced ... well it depends on were you go new yorkers are not very nice I mean sales assitant aren't nice. Which is weird In Asutralia if I was treated like that in a shop they would probably be fired. They ignore you, they are over staffed, don't know there stock and can't be botherd being there. Jeannni I agree with the self absorbed bit.

I liked San Fran alot and the people there were friendly :)

Oh and one big thing i didn't like about the states was the food. We ate subway alot because most restaurants just were to heavy/greasy and it give us stomsch aches. Though i do love Bagels and cream cheese. Then when we went to Europe the bread is so nice the butter the cheese. I guess we weren't use to the food i don't eat take out in Australia. More sushi, foccacia's with spinach and vege's and our pizza'a have lot's of toppings like spinach and mushroom and ham and ... welll its was fun.

Jeianni
04-07-2006, 12:35 PM
Jeianni nodded,

"Yeah, the food here is pretty greasy if you're eating out a lot. Especially if it's just the fast food places! I don't eat out very often, but I imagine it would be hard to cook for yourself when you're visiting from another country. I went to Spain too, and I agree, they have the best bread! Mmmm, so good! I loved most of the food there, but the foor in England really didn't agree with me, or the food in Germany. And the food in France was so heavy, I could only eat half of my dinner!"

Jeianni munched a french fry.

"Things over here are fine for now. There's a lot of controversy going on right now with Pres. Bush and another guy named Libby. Libby says that Pres. Bush allegedly approved a CIA leak that had something to do with Iraq. I absolutely can't wait for 2008! Things with me are fine too. Cutie Boy gave me a call last night and it's nice to hear from him. He's pretty busy, so he doesn't call often. As for Field Training, it's just basic training/boot camp, but for officer candidates in college. It's only 4 weeks long instead of 8 because we all already know the basics of military customs and courtesies. All I know is that it's going to be hot, and I'm going to get yelled at, a lot!"

Admiral DaaLa
04-07-2006, 09:55 PM
Daala shivered, " SOunds like eerrr fun. YOu must be very discplined and comiited JJ."

"We out basically every day in the states except for one week were we had a kitchen. The majority of our food was from restaurants not to much take away (all subway). I just eat very healthy here and its alos hard when you don't were to eat!"

clarkson88
04-08-2006, 11:03 AM
Clarkson listened to what they were saying,
'Luckily I'm visiting my brother, so he'll know all of the best places hopefully. He's English but his wifes American, hence why he lives there. Not that I have a problem, she's lovely. I am really looking forward to it. I think I'm going some time in July for 3 weeks!' he said as he drained his water.
'As for European food, I feel Italian is the best but funilly enough when I visited Rome just a month ago the Itallian food was not as good as over here. I think it has something to do with the competition of other foreign food as their aren't many other types other than Italian e.g. chinese etc. Apparently I have to try the steak when I go over there.'

Jeianni
04-09-2006, 07:41 AM

Excuse my ignorance but what do you gyus actually do on the 4th of July I know its Independance day and all but how do you celebrate?

Jeianni
04-10-2006, 08:36 PM
"It varies from family to family, but the most common way is to get together with your family and have a barbque. We'll have hamburgers and hot dogs, various other picnic foods. And then when it gets dark enough, we'll go out to watch the fireworks. They have those at high schools, colleges, sometimes churches if they're big enough. Also, even though it's illegal in Arizona, some people set off mini fireworks/ sparklers in their back yards. A lot of people will wear red white and blue colored clothing/ outfits. It's really just a day to get together and have fun! "

clarkson88

Sounds like bonfire night. In England we celebrate on November the 5th Bonfire Night. Its a day we celebrate because years ago Guy Fawkes tried blowing up the houses of Parliament but he was successfully stopped, so we celebrate every year that Parliament survived by lighting huge bonfires and setting off fireworks. We also have barbeque food that night.

I have seen V for Vendetta. Personally I thought it was good but too... hippy. Blowing up the houses of Parliament and on the crusades against the governemnt is a reaccuring theme for films. The portrayal of the church is getting ridiculous in lots of films. Making them the enemy. Not that I mind but the instant someone bashes something other than Christianity then it is banned. Its unjust to allow bashing of one religion and then complete silence on the others. I live in a Christian country (well, supposed to be) for goodness sake.
All in all though, apart from that it was good. I thought V was Evey's father though. But it never said.

Admiral DaaLa
04-13-2006, 10:11 AM
Nah i'm pretty sure he falls in love with her and vice verser. If he was her dad waouldn't if have searched for her initially?

V was filmed in fascist environment where religion helps itself and not its followers. Christians are an easy target and symbol to identify with. I'm Catholic I understand where your coming from.

Jeianni
04-13-2006, 07:25 PM
"I also understand, Christianity seems an easy target. Although, remember where the writers for this movie came from. They were also the ones who made the Matrix, and they're living in America right now, where we're seeing a rise in the far right, and support for some very conservative agendas. I really liked the movie, anyhow. Natalie Portman is a favorite of mine, and it was nice to see something different cinematically for a change!"

Jeianni clapped her hands twice, a jukebox dropping from the cieling.

"Ahh! I knew it was still there! Lets get some jams going on here! We should save the BHM for desperate times and desperate measures. All we really need are some good tunes!"

The lights in the cantina dimmed and Jeianni hit a couple of the keys on the jukebox. Loud, bumpin' base filled the bar and Jeianni started to shake with the beat!

Admiral DaaLa
04-13-2006, 10:55 PM
"What can I say the writers are Polish.... as is my heritage. Poland population is 80% or maybe even more Catholic. And I swear when i was there in Feb this year there is a Church on every street corner."
Daala shakes here head not understanding the need and they can be finacially maintained.

"You see a lot of contradicitons in Poland. these amazing churches new and old and poor people without money, freezing to death. I joked about with my cousin who lives there that they will soon have a church tax. If you don't pay a certain amount to your Church you don't get married, wouldn't be given a funeral or child will not be baptised.
I know what its like because some of the Polish priest here think like that but don't realise that we have the option of moving to an English speaking catholic shurch. And to think that I went to Church every sunday till I was 17."

Daala knocked down her shot and got up to shake with Jeanni beat.

Jeianni
04-14-2006, 03:28 AM
"Trust me Daala,"

Jeianni shouted out over the music,

"I know all about being a Polish Catholic! Luckily we have a ton of english churches here!"

Jeianni
04-15-2006, 04:45 PM
Jeianni clapped her hands three times, stopping the music, the jukebox rising back into place in the cieling. She sat back down at the bar, out of breath, and motioned to the bartender for another cherry coke!

"Whoo, a few more months and I'll be able to actually buy alcohol here! A date, Justin? A date for what? As Scourge said, Daala and I are, unfortunately, taken. Which is really quite silly of us, because we are hanging out in a Singles cantina. I suppose I'm not really taken, because the cutie that I mention so frequently and I are really just flirting  . And he lives in a different state :( ."

04-15-2006, 08:32 PM
Clarkson turned to Daala.
'The upcoming film of 'The Davinci Code' will be good but I feel it is unfair. I have read the book and enjoyed it, but to even think that the Priory of Sion existed is ludicrous. This film will not be banned because it slanders Catholicism, insulting Christ and the entire Eclesiastic body. If it was another religion bashing saying that the entire faith is a lie then it would be banned. It is unjust.'

'It is glad to hear your opinion as many of my friends who are Catholics will be going to watch it but feel the way I do about the hyppocrisy of the cinema/tv officials.'

Admiral DaaLa
04-16-2006, 11:18 AM
It's just another movie to me. I'll see it and make my own opinion on the topic. Something to watch instead of mission impossible 3 ... I didn't even see the second one.:)

Well a lot of religions are more sensitive... or maybe we're (hollywood) just tooo sensitive to ciriticise them openly. Hollywood is a great propaganda machine and fantastic export i'm sure it feels a lot of political pressure to present/maintain a certain image.

its a fun dettae... yesterday at the dinner table we debated... the EU and its benefits. It got out of hand!

Zekk
04-16-2006, 09:18 PM
Zekk took out his red lightsaber tossing his black Dark Jedi robes(from the Shadow Academy) behind him along with is long black ponytail form his shoulder and took one big strike and cut the door staright in half walking in and sheathing his saber along with the blade. Then he threw a clone out of a chair at the front and force pulled the bartender over and held him by the neck with force grip and said,"I want a BEER!" he said griitng his teeth as the bartender came as fast as he could and opened the bottle as Zekk started drinking and gulping it down when he looked at the others around him starting at him in shock as he yealled with a loud thundering voice,"WHAT!?" and they all fell off their chairs...

Admiral DaaLa
04-16-2006, 11:30 PM
Daala was shocked and as Clarskson helped her off the floor she muttered, " How rude,"

Jeanni who was next to her just and grabbed her hand to get up replied, "How Sith like!"

Daala looked at her door with her hands on her hips and spears shooting outof her eyes, " Now look at what you've done. There'll be a draft." She clicked her fingers and four stormtroopers approached Zekk teo went to fix the door as the others started to right up a door destruction fine. :p

Zekk
04-16-2006, 11:42 PM
Zekk through the two stormtroopers writing him a fine out the window and ripped the paper in half tossed it in Daala's face and took another stormtrooper and put him as a dorr and went up to her yelled, "HAPPY!?" and walked over to his booth and sat down and ordered another beer trying to cool down as the stormtroopers were firing at him he sensed the balster bolts comming so he whipped out his saber and deflected them both and hitting and killing the stormtroopers instantly...then put his saber away and told Daala,"Dont try it again otherwise you will just have dead troopers all around you!" and walked away, back to his booth drinking and gulping down his Budweiser again.

clarkson88
04-17-2006, 08:18 AM
'How very rude indeed!' said Clarkson as he helped Daala up and shot a dirty look at Zekk. 'Someones a bit touchy!'
'The EU? There are always debates about that, living in England and the big issue of 'Do we join more fully or not?' rages everywhere. I personally feel that the trade franchise is good for the economy etc, but there are just too many diversities to intergrate fully. It is a nice idea, I can recall one MEP (Member of the European Parliament) saying we should become the United States of Europe. It's a nice idea but the language barrier is too difficult. Plus there are major powers that call more attetion in the EU such as France and Germany. France under Chirac are not willing to give England a good deal in the EU. Anyway...'
he finished as he looked at Daala.
'Religion and politics, what next then?' he asked grinning.

Admiral DaaLa
04-17-2006, 09:07 AM
Daala buys a round for the bar and shrugs, "I'm an Admira!l Zekk stormtroopers are indispensable." Five more stormtropers ran to their demise at Daala's command. "You gotta love that unlimited supply.'

"welll Eu is a branding of sorts that just lifts consumer confidence increasing investment by decreasing risk ....

I was on the "it will never work band wagon."
Its an ideal situation but looking at the history of Europe and cultural differences well putting it bluntly there is too much arrogance, racism and discrimintaion in Europe for it to work. Unlike the states where everyone feels Amercian in Europe people have allegiance to their countries and would be "hurt"(for no better word) to have that symbol minimised into a state.
Language barrier and currency are the easier to fix then issues such as poverty, health care, employment etc... Not that the states is doing a great job in all fields. In health care the US governemnt spends more per capita on its citizens then any other nation (by alot too soz can't remember the figures)and yet its health care is not as good as Australia's.

Anywayz what do you do/study clarkson?

Jeianni cracked her knuckles, letting the force light spark from her fingers. She gave Zekk a good long stare, reminding him that she was force sensitive as well, and that she could double as a bouncer anytime. Turning towards Daala, she snapped at a stormtrooper for some more french fries.

"Speaking of Language barriers, there's a lot of racism here in the states involved in being and english only 'American' country. A lot of people want us to speak english only and have it be the official language. People are afraid we won't be 'American' anymore because of all of the spanish speaking immigrants we're getting. This really irritates me because I'm pretty sure that America is a continent! And that originally, this country was made up of immigrants. People are just angry because these new immigrants aren't white. A lot of hypocrisy if you ask me. Which none of you did, but oh well..."

Jeianni reached over the counter for some catsup.

Zekk
04-17-2006, 01:38 PM
Zekk used the force to grab the ketchup intyo his hand from the far end of the bar and squitred some in his mouth then he squitred some all over Jeianni and she screamed along with an evil look but Zekk just looked at her with an evil grin and began drinking his beer again as he laughed...and turned his head to Daala and said,"Well stromtroopers are indespensible but you arent!' he said with rage as he threw an empty Budweiser bottle at her and hit her in her face he then grinned and laughed...and ordered another beer.

I find that perspectives like that come from people without the general knowledge and education to see the benefits and human rights of others.

My best friend and her boyfirend just came back from Europe. (It's the thing to do after uni) His family's heritage is form England and they are both aerospace engineers, so very intelligent.
Anyways he was shocked how in many countries Poland, Russis etc... English wasn't the main language and he had a bit of a winge. (He's a complainer very annoying) He did the whole speel on how English is the most spoken langauage in the world blah blah and was shot down because it isn't and secondly he was in a foreign country he should adapt to their food, langauge etc. He was really narrowminded on the topic.

Greedo Boy
04-19-2006, 12:12 AM
Greedo Boy clambered through one of the Cantina's windows, a wild look in his eye. His clothes were ragged and torn, but surprisingly clean.
Sliding comfortably into one of the booths, he pulled a camera out of his pack and stared forward intently. He grinned crazedly, eager to witness the coming spectacle.

Zekk
04-19-2006, 12:31 AM
Zekk stared at the woman with coldness and rage,"I dont care who you are and if you own "this establishment" because I could just as easil;y destroy it!" he said as he noticed the ragged clothing figure sitting in the botth with a camera and zipped around with and angry look and yelled,"Who are you taking piuctures of!? HMMM!? TELL ME OR I WILL CUT YOU DOWN AS WELL!"

Jeianni
04-19-2006, 02:10 AM
Jeianni rolled her eyes at Zekk's pompous outrage.

"Honey, Zekk, darlin', cut down on the Melo-Drama. To be effectively scary, you have to do what Clara used to do. Keep quiet, don't make empty threats, and strike fast and hard without warning. Like THIS!"

The light energy that had been collecting in her hand flew forward, catching Zekk full on in the face. His head whipped back, but amazingly he stayed in his bar stool. Jeianni gathered more light towards her, building a powerfully bright aura of white around her.

"Consider that a warning shot. You're outnumbered here, being incredibly rude and going on like "Oh, I'm a sith- fear me! My life is so dangerous and lonely, I hate everyone and I always get my way. Wah Wah Wah, give me more drinks!" won't get you anywhere. Goodness knows Greedo's done far more to annoy than you have, and he still hasn't broken us into insanity! And also, I hate food fights, never do that again!"

Jeianni stalked off towards the dressing room in the back where she and Daala kept some of the clothing from the BHM emporium. Taking a quick shower and removing the catsup soiled clothing, she re-emerged several minutes later in a fresh jumpsuit and cloak.

"That'll teach me to let my shields down around pubescant dark lords. Really Zekk, this is a no-sides taken cantina, we're all just folk in here. Daala! Guess what! The really cute guy that I'll tell you allll about later called me cute today!"

Clarkson was laughing at Jeianni's speech. To be safe Clarkson produced a ysalimir, negating all possible powers Zekk had and cutting him away from the force completely. He was nothing but an emo kid left. Taking out an EMP (electro magnetic pulse) generator Clarkson fired it at his lightsaber, destorying all the circuitry. He was completely isolated.
Clarkson turned to Daala,
'As said in my profile I am studying physics, chemistry and maths at college. I'm in my final year and about to take my exams. I am hoping to go to Birmingham University to study core physics for 4 years and then do a PHD. I hope to go into anything to do with it, I know this sounds geeky, but I love physics. I am unfortunately the youngest in my year group being an August child but meh, what can you do? The only reason it is annoying is because most of my friends are 18 now and so can go out drinking legally. Don't worry, I'm not the usual teenager that comes on and bashes people with their Sith fantacies of killing. I'm not being the slightest bit arrogant when I say that I am beyond my years. Certain circumstances have cause me to grow up quicker, unfortunately.'
Clarkson turned to Daala,
'I have read yours also but would you like to expand upon your own?'
Clarkson started stroking the ysalimir on the counter.

“Thank God you’re here. I swear I was about to send a cruiser crashing into the cantina.” Daala hugged Jeanni very uncharacteristically,” So he called that’s great! What did he have to say and how did the tournament go?”

She turned to Clarkson, “Aren’t you a cute fluffy wuffy cutey tutty errr ummm what I meant to say is that is a very nice specimen you have there Clarkson.” She patted the ysalimir gently.

“I just graduated in Biomedical Sciences and am in my honours year at the Alfred hospital. The aim is to examine the relationship between human rights law & patent law & access to drugs in the context of the avian influenza virus. So far it has been a trying day I thought my literature review was perfect I was wrong and its due in two days.*sigh* another day of work.! On a lighter note I’m 22 and live in Melbourne but my folks are Polish. Did I mention how much I love to ski? Was in Lake Tahoe California in February and had the most amazing time. On a lighter note Clarkson turned to Jeianni,
'Our museums are pretty impressive. The most impressive museum i've been to is the Vatican Museum. I was in Rome during February and we spent two days in the Vatican. We went seeing St Peter's bascilica on Sunday and the catacombs of all the dead Popes. We also went to the midday blessing from the Pope himself in Vatican Square. On the following Tuesday we went to the Museums and the Sistine Chapel. It was amazing.'
'The Bird flu? Has it hit your shore yet. It has arrived up North in Scotland. What are the advancements over there with a cure/immunity shot?'.

OOC: How can you go and play GOD/Destroyer like that, walking into an RPG without looking at the opening posts and attitudes and realizing that no one else is killing and destroying like you are. This cantina is generally for conversations, drinking, dancing, and the occasional smack upside the head for Greedo. Also, name calling is generally frowned upon, and "queer" is considered one of those names.

Jeianni lay on the floor still crackling with energy, although she wasn't unconscious, simply absorbing the excess lightening and converting it into light. Jeianni greatfully accepted Clarkson's help off of the floor, and she walked past Zekk, gving him a cold look but saying nothing. She sat at the bar next to Daala, raising her shields around herself and Daala.

"The impertinence?! Anyways, I wasn't talking about the cutie from Colorado on the tennis team, although he did call me, and his tournament went okay. I was talking about someone else who was in one of my classes, who I'm not really supposed to be interested in, but I am. I'd love to get to see the Vatican and all of the surrounding things someday, it's so amazing all of the great things there are to see! I've been to the Prado, and that is quite impressive! I may get to go back to Europe in a few years, and Italy will be on my list of things to see!"

No .. it's a long story all are welcome!

Daala nodded, "SO my brothers says. He went to the torino Olympics (It's all about the skiing in this family) and he went all over Italy and loved it"

The bird flu... no cures no vaccines and there wouldn't be any. There are currently two drugs Relenza and Tamiflu for treatment and prophylaxis but that may not work on the strain of brid flu that becomes transmitted into humans.

The bird flu has been around in some shape or form for about 100 year. Iroonically started in Italy... Anyway the reason it has became 'popular' is because it infected humans in HK in 1997. There are 15 subtypes of bird flu making it very hard to pin point which one will actually effected humans and cross the species barrier. I think it will in a couple of years but it will ravage the porrerst regions of the world... Asia/ Africa.

Due to no vaccine governements have started stockpillling the two other treatments. Only until we get hit by a andemic can we create a vaccine ...you need a sample of the influenza.

Solutions cook your chicken well... wash it... be hygenic if your gonna kill it. Stay away from its saliva and faeces NO stay away from farms unless you have a farm and then read the World Health Organisation website.

Hey clarkson back to one of our previous topics.... check this out..

Christians who mostly turned the other cheek as The Da Vinci Code climbed the best-seller list are launching a counteroffensive now that Dan Brown's novel is set to hit the big screen.

As the movie's release next month approaches, Roman Catholic and other Christian leaders are unveiling new websites, taking out full-page ads to "debunk" the work's claims and speaking out in the media and from the pulpit.

Even during Holy Week, the upcoming film was on the minds of prominent clerics worldwide.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Rowan Williams, denounced the book's controversial premise that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had children, calling it "the stuff of imagination".

"It's almost that we'd prefer to believe something like this instead of the prosaic reality," Williams, head of the worldwide Anglican Church, said on Easter Sunday.

In a Good Friday sermon at the Vatican, Father Raniero Cantalamessa, Pope Benedict's personal priest, was more blunt. "Christ is still being sold for 30 pieces of silver ... this time to publishers and filmmakers," he said.

The reclusive author, Dan Brown, denies his writing is anti-Christian.

"This book is not anti-anything. It's a novel," Brown writes on his website. "I wrote this story in an effort to explore certain aspects of Christian history that interest me.

"The vast majority of devout Christians understand this fact and consider The Da Vinci Code an entertaining story that promotes spiritual discussion and debate."

Pat Ryan Garcia, a spokeswoman for the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, said the organisation had sought to provide "proper Catholic answers" to questions the book raised for the faithful. But she said the conference decided to "ramp up its efforts" when the first movie trailer for The Da Vinci Code declared: "Seek the truth."

"He wants to play both sides of it," Garcia said of Brown. Though the author stressed the book was fiction, she noted he also presented readers with a "fact sheet".

During the Lenten season in March, the conference created a website called "Jesus Decoded", hoping to refute aspects of the book. It also produced an hour-long documentary of the same title on the life of Jesus.

Many of the new websites offer a point-by-point challenge to Brown's "fact sheet" and other aspects of his storyline.

As successful as the book has been - more than 40 million copies have been sold worldwide - Garcia said the movie would be even more of a "media phenomenon" because it starred Tom Hanks, was directed by Ron Howard and would have a single worldwide release. "A lot more people go to the movies than read books," she said.

Among other Christian responses to the upcoming film:

- A leading evangelical Protestant seminary, the Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, debuted a rebuttal site on Good Friday. The site seeks to "create doubt about doubt", a seminary spokeswoman said.

- The Church Communication Network is planning a May 21 satellite broadcast to 3,000 Protestant churches nationwide in the United States, featuring a discussion of the movie by three Christian authors.

- James Dobson, a leading evangelical and founder of the conservative advocacy group Focus on the Family, will deliver two radio broadcasts on The Da Vinci Code, set for May 1 and 2.

- Even the usually secretive Roman Catholic sect Opus Dei, which is featured negatively in the book, released a video last Wednesday to show how founder St Josemaria and Opus Dei "have had a positive effect on the lives of thousands of people", a spokeswoman for the group said.

Daala shook her head in dismay,"By publically crushing the movie they will only make it more popular. Haven't they learnt plus I thinks it is a movie another form of art. Did you hear about the paint of Christ on the cross that was urintaed on... NOW that's DISGusting and wrong. But the divinci code isn't in the same league."

I'm not looking forward that much to Da Vinci Code...*ducks* XIII will definitely do it for me though...yay, they finally got Beast in there! Doesn't look like Gambit *drool* will be, though *sigh*

Thanks Daala! I'm studying Medicine right now...second year = hellish...but apparently not as bad as the third years, who are currently all hooked up on caffeine IVs lol...

I haven't been on in ages cos I was desparately busy last year, and not just with uni...a relationship and a helluva lot of alcohol later, I'm a lot more grown up lol. Or maybe not...*skols a drink*

DRINKING CONTEST!

*sigh* I have exams in three weeks (technically) but they actually start next Wednesday *panics*...although they won't be as hard as next semester's, which will examine two years' worth of anatomy, physiology, histology, biochemistry, nutrition, anthropology etc. I don't honestly know how I'm going to survive next sem.

Yes, underage drinking :ohhlala: . I'm not 18 yet, which is the legal drinking age here...only a month left though! :happydance:

Jeianni
05-18-2006, 09:15 PM
Jeianni pops back as Daala snags her by the wrist.

"I was going to go pack for field training. There's only five and a half days left before I leave for 28 days of sun and adventure in South Dakota, U.S. Everyday I get closer my heart speeds up a little bit, and I get a little more excitable about it. I have confidence in my ability to pass, I just know it's gonna cost a little. I'm pumping myself up for it! :shots: Haha, just kidding! More like :whip: :music: and  "

Jeianni turned and snatched a pink drink off a tray as one of Daala's 'troopers walked past.

"At least they won't make me wear any armor like :trooper: !"

LOL Daala laughed, "Jeanni you must be so fit? I need to go back to the gym i miss the extra enrgy i get from it :("

"28 Days of adventure does that include tents???"

Jeianni
05-19-2006, 02:37 AM
"Why yes, it includes one full week of field exercise adventures with pre-packaged meals, sponge baths, and close and cuddly friends! And I don't have a choice about being so fit, I have tests to pass!"

Jaina Solo Durron

I'm from Perth, Australia, Cassus :) It's small and crappy, yes, but for now it's home.

Wow, Jeianni. I seriously wish I could be fit again...back in year 9 I was stick thin, fit as a deer and could play hockey like no-one's business..and I never got sick! I miss those days, I really do. Hope you have fun on your camp!

I am actual healthier nowadays than I was when I was younger. What do you do Jeianni if you don't mind me asking.

Jeianni
05-19-2006, 07:14 PM
"Thanks JSD, I'll have as much fun as I can with the Drill Seargents and the bed making and such. And as for underage drinking, you'll get to drink before I will because I'm twenty and I can't drink until September!" Replacing her pink drink with a Cherry Coke, Jeianni turned her stool over to Clarkson.

"There's a mandatory class that we have to take two times a week for an hour, and it's basically just cardio stuff, running, stair stepping and things like that. And there's also a lot of pushups and ab work. Plus a lot of us work out besides all of that. I actually like to go dancing when I can, it's considered cardio and way more fun than running around in circles."

Da vinci code wasn't as bad as the reviews. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad, either. I have to wait till after my exams to watch X3 though *is annoyed* Mother refused to watch X3, and she was all "Don't leave me!" when i went to buy a ticket to X3...*sigh* parents.

How is everyone today?

Ragnos entered the Cantina for the first time, in a long time.
I'm fine, thank you, JDS. He sat down by the bar and ordered a vanilla coke, as usual. So, what's everyone's plans for tonight?

Admiral DaaLa

I think we need more drinks.  :shots:

"Hahaha the lot of you will mix spirits and beer and forget everything." lol

She passes a drink to Darth Scourge.

Seeing her tactics are not working as Cassus and Clarkson hadn't let up Daala walks out of the cantina and orders a bigger rock! Unfortunately the rock/boulder is a little much for Daa
