Announcement: GS Calendar open to everyone!

As you probably know, there's a calendar on these boards that helps us keep track of community events and such. You can see it from the link up top or down at the bottom of the page. Previously, this calendar was only editable by moderators and myself.

I've decided to try something new and open the calendar up to EVERY registered member of the boards. Now YOU can add your own calendar events! There are a few rules so please heed the following:

1. If you're going to post a calendar event PLEASE use proper grammar and spelling. We will not be running around after you checking your posts. We need you to be responsible. You can always edit them as well so keep that in mind if you see something messed up.

2. ALL EVENTS MUST BE STAR WARS RELATED. There will be no personal events in here like your second cousin's birthday party. That will be deleted and you'll get a warning most likely depending on if it's your first offense.

3. If you abuse the calendar in any way, shape, or form you'll be warned and/or banned depending on the offense and number of offenses.

4. PLEASE add links into the calendar items but PLEASE check the links after you post the item! In fact, always go look at the item after you're done to make sure the item is correct and on the correct day/month/year.

5. DO NOT use RECURRING events. For some reason that function is not working and until we upgrade and fix it, you'll just mess up the calendar. Depending on the number of times we have to tell you this, you may get warns for that as well. Make your calendar items for a single or ranged date(s) - NOT a recurring event. It's the default option so just don't change it or just change it to ranged and put in the end date

6. If you mess up or feel you did something wrong, check the online list and contact a moderator immediately. They will help you out.


DIRECTIONS

To add an event, just click on the CALENDAR (http://www.galacticsenate.com/index.php?act=calendar) link at the top of any page and then scroll way down. On the left you'll see a button that reads ADD EVENT. Click that button.

Leave the EVENT STARTS ON radio button selected and just change the month/day/year in the dropdown boxes to the date of the event. If you choose a ranged event (an event that starts on one day and finishes another) you can then set the background color of the event so it stands out. This is purely optional. Remember: DO NOT use recurring events! They won't work right and mess up the calendar.

Leave Public Event button selected so that everyone can see the event. Then just make a post like you normally would but try to be as detailed and descriptive as possible. If it's a convention, add the link and some text about where it is and who's attending, etc. Try to make it nice!
